Georgia’s national airline is Airzena Georgian Airlines, and offers flights from a number of European cities, though the closest to Britain is from Paris. British Airways offer flights to Tbilisi, with prices starting at around £180 for an economy class one way ticket. Other operators offering services to the country include Aeroflot, Air Ukraine, Austrian Airlines, Swiss and Turkish Airlines. Flights from London to Tbilisi take approximately six hours and forty five minutes, and Tbilisi’s international airport offers everything that would be expected including bus and taxi services into the city. Also offered are restaurants, bars, shops and a bureau de change. It should be noted that power failures are not uncommon during the winter, and the airport has been known to be affected in the past.
